Hi everyone,
Thanks for expressing your intention of joining my MP3 Mailing List. Actually, MP3 is a pretty old
technology already, but it's really cool because it compresses the usual file size of a music file
by up to 14 times, which means that a 4 minutes CD-quality track which is around 50MB would only come
out to about 3.5MB on MP3 format, while maintaining to close the quality of CD-sound.
However, because of its unique advantages, most music publishers are hyper-worried about piracy on their
music soundtrack, and therefore, most ISPs and free hosting services do not allow us to put up MP3 fiels
on it... As such, there is nothing much I can do, but to maintain a small MP3 mailing list - not to
illegally distribute music - but to share and discuss about the music easily.
Speaking of this, all my MP3s are encoded at 64khz which is one grade lower than the usual CD-quality.
Unless you have very powerful speakers (I dopn't mean those $100+ Altec Lansing - I mean REAL speakers),
you can't really hear the difference on that $80+ sound cards. However, the difference is when a person
decodes the MP3 back to WAV and then burn it into a CD, this is not possible - so the file remains very
much on a single terminal...
ALRIGHT! I shan't bore you all too much with these dead technical details... The thing is, I'll send you
one to two MP3 files every week, provided you have enough space on your EMAIL, and you fill up the form
below... Enjoy and cheers to the great times! Oh yah, if you have any further questions, please
EMAIL me.
